Q: What fly rod and reel, etc., should I purchase?
A:
First of all, you want to choose your fishing line. Choose one that
is apt for the type of fish you plan on catching. Then, you want
to match your reel weight and rod weight to the weight of your reel
– all three should be equal. Consider buying a large arbor
reel. All fishing rods are going to allow you to fish, but one that
costs around $150 is probably your best bet. As you get better,
you can buy a better, more expensive fishing rod. A fishing pole
that cost less than $100 is most likely not going to be a very good
one – might as well spend a few extra bucks now and get a
decent one!
